A thru hole load cell has a hollow center, so bolts, cables, or rods can pass through it. This lets you measure tension directly on a tie rod or monitor loads on an anchor bolt without extra fixtures. A standard compression load cell needs a flat loading surface and often a load cap, which adds height and complexity.

The standard output is typically mV/V from a full bridge strain gauge circuit. But we can integrate signal conditioning to give you 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, or even RS485 digital output. It depends on your data acquisition setup and how far the signal needs to travel.

Yes, customization is one of our strengths. We machine the sensor body to match your required bore size, whether you need it for an M20 bolt or a larger anchor rod. Just provide the nominal bolt diameter and any clearance tolerances, and we’ll check feasibility.

Many of our thru hole models are sealed to IP67 or IP68, making them suitable for outdoor use and temporary submersion. For permanent underwater installations, we can add extra sealing or use stainless steel construction. Make sure to specify your environmental conditions when ordering.

In a typical configuration, total accuracy can be within ±0.5% of full scale or better, including non-linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability. They’re temperature compensated, which helps maintain stability over months and years. For critical applications, we suggest annual recalibration.
